It can be difficult to manage your time but there is a way! Beyond Fitness Personal Training provides two great ideas to implement in your life to help fit in some daily exercise.
The most common excuse for not being able to lose any weight is “I don’t have time’’.
It is very easy to simply say ‘’I don’t have time to exercise’’ but when we break it down and really go deep into that answer, we can truly see how ridiculous it is.
As you know, we have 24 hours in 1 day. So now lets break this up even further.
We spend roughly between 6-9 hours sleeping, so now we are left with 16 hours. If you work a 10 hour job, this still leaves you 6 hours to do anything else.
Free time equation
24 hours – 9 hrs sleep = 16 hours – 10 hours at job (and commute) = 6 hours free
I know that it can be difficult to manage your time, especially when you have to cook, clean, travel to and from work (and work), take care of your children, run errands, the list goes on.
But there is a way!
Here are two great ideas to implement in your life, to help fit in some daily exercise:
1/ Put yourself first
This may sound selfish, but if you don’t put yourself first every now and then, who will?
If you are a busy mother, you would generally first try and make sure your family has everything they need for the day – so its always rush rush rush, until everyone is ready and then you have to leave for work and again, you forgot to think about yourself.
A solution? Wake up 15 minutes earlier than the rest of your family, and fit in some exercise then.
Even just 10-15 minutes of intense exercise will get those calories burning and set you up for a great start to the day.
2/ Use some of your free time on exercise
Since we have about six hours to spare in our Free time equation, just say three hours of that was used on cleaning, cooking, and eating, so now we are left with roughly 2-3 hours.
You only need one hour to dedicate to exercise to see the changes you want.
Make this time fun! Do a variety of exercises.
Sample weekly exercise plan
Monday – run
Tuesday – pilates
Wednesday – full body strength
Thursday – walk
Friday – video exercises.
If you feel this is still too hard to manage in your daily life, split your workout up into morning and afternoon – half an hour before breakfast and half an hour after dinner.
It doesn’t really matter when you get the workout in, as long as you get it done!
Here is an example of a morning and afternoon split workout, resulting in one hour of exercise for your day:
MORNING:
- 15 minutes speed walk
- 50 squats
- 40 lunges
- 30 jumping jacks
- 20 tricep dips
- 10 push ups
- x3 rounds
AFTERNOON:
- 10 minute jog
- x2 POP Pilates videos by Blogilates on youtube
Its really as easy as that.
I hope this has helped some of you to better manage your time and fit in that exercise. Get started asap!
